‘Pay 4 Play’ on WQXA 105.7 THE X raises $355,896 for Penn State Health Children’s Hospital

WE ROCKED N’ RAISED! The 17th annual People’s Pay 4 Play on WQXA-FM 105.7 THE X on Nov. 16 and 17 raised $355,896 for Children’s Miracle Network at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital. That brings the event’s 17-year fundraising tally to more than $3.4 million.

Jen Shade, Nipsey and Vince from The People’s Morning Show hosted the 28-hour event. Listeners made donations to hear their song requests played on air, community partners presented fundraising totals from the past year, patients and families shared their medical journeys and hospital staff members shared examples of CMN “Dollars At Work.”

“We are beyond grateful for our partnership with 105.7 THE X and the People’s Morning Show DJs. Their passion for our Miracle Families is a huge part of what makes Pay 4 Play so successful,” said Katie Anderson, director of Children’s Miracle Network at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital. “Together, with the loyal listeners that rally behind them in support, Pay 4 Play has raised more than $3 million for Children’s Miracle Network since it started in 2007. Thank you for joining us in giving the gift of growing up to kids at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital by funding lifesaving equipment, vital patient programs, and transformative research.”

Local businesses and community members contributed more than $43,000 in sponsorships towards the event, including Highmark, Cumulus Media, Schaedler Yesco, TE Connectivity, Menasha, Window Nation, M&T Bank, Universal Media, Members 1st Federal Credit Union, McClure Company and Betty Butler.
