Dollars at Work: Camp Journey

Your gift to Children’s Miracle Network provided scholarships for 12 children with medical needs to attend Camp Journey in 2018. At this week-long camp at Leg Up Farm in York County, kids engage in play therapy including water activities, arts and crafts, nutritional lessons and more! These activities allow the children to have fun while also promoting motor skills, independence and socialization. The therapy also helps campers continue the developmental progress they made during the school year.

For example, kids tackle sensory issues while wading through a pond to feed koi fish and strengthen their motor and socialization skills by playing “Duck, Duck, Goose” with water balloons.

Camp Journey is one of many medical camps that receive funding from Children’s Miracle Network Hershey. Other camps are designed for children with ventilators, heart conditions, arthritis and developmental delays. Thanks for the giving these kids the chance to experience childhood.
