Inspired by miracles, meet Sam!

Don’t even think about challenging Sam in a game of UNO, he ALWAYS wins! Games are just some of the activities that Sam enjoys, especially when he’s passing the time before and after medical procedures.

Sam was born at 27 weeks, and his first bed was an incubator purchased by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. But the effects of prematurity can last a lifetime. Since his time in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Penn State Children’s Hospital, Sam has endured multiple follow up surgeries and procedures. He has a shunt which relieves fluid from his brain, and he also has some mobility issues from cerebral palsy.

Sam will be joining us at our annual Extra Life marathon on November 3rd. Gamers will be playing for 24 hours to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network at Penn State Children’s Hospital. Sam is thrilled to be participating in Extra Life because he knows firsthand how donations help kids like him!
