2020 has been a year unlike any other. Thanks to The GIANT Company, it’s also been a year of #GIANTMiracles for Children’s Miracle Network Hershey and Penn State Children’s Hospital.
This past year, The GIANT Company made huge commitments to our CMN program and the Penn State Health network, including pioneering new research discoveries, advancing patient care, and supporting frontline healthcare workers.
In the Spring of 2020, GIANT announced a $1 million gift to Children’s Miracle Network to fund a community car seat safety program, a K-12 school wellness initiative, and the expansion of Penn State Children’s Hospital. During the onset of COVID-19, GIANT was the first corporate partner to reach out asking ‘how can we help’ and provided a gift of $50,000 to the Penn State Health COVID-19 Assistance Fund, donated PPE to the hospital, and gave over $22,000 of in-kind gifts of product and flowers to our frontline workers in honor of National Nurses Week and National Hospitals Week.
GIANT also led an extended, record-breaking, in-store cause marketing campaign for Children’s Miracle Network Hershey from June through August. To celebrate, GIANT treated Children’s Hospital nurses to a meal from a local restaurateur, which further honored both our nurses and this businessman who organized meals for frontline workers at the start of COVID.
Last but certainly not least, GIANT capped off their incredble support of CMN Hershey in 2020 by hosting a 2nd in-store “Round Up at the Register” campaign during the Holiday season.
From supporting the above community programs and providing COVID-19 relief funds, to in-store fundraising efforts and showing appreciation for frontline medical staff, The GIANT Company was an absolutely vital partner to Children’s Miracle Network Hershey this year, and helped CMN create innumerable miracles during a trying, uncertain year. For that, we are forever grateful.
