Pay 4 Play XIX Returns Nov. 20–21

From November 20–21, 105.7 The X and Nipsey, Jen Shade, and Vince from The People’s Morning Show are back for the 19th annual Pay 4 Play — a 28-hour radio marathon that unites our community to raise critical funds for Children’s Miracle Network at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital.
For nearly two decades, Pay 4 Play has inspired generosity across our region, helping provide life-saving equipment, innovative research, and programs that bring comfort and hope to children and families.
Last year’s event was record-breaking, raising more than $387,700 to support local kids and families. This year, the community is aiming even higher with a goal of $400,000 to continue giving sick and injured children the gift of growing up.
Listeners can make an even greater impact during special matching hours throughout the event, when generous sponsors will instantly double donations made during those times. And as always, every supporter who gives has the chance to pick a song to play live on the air — a Pay 4 Play tradition that turns giving into a celebration.

Why It Matters: Meet Evie
Nine-year-old Evie went from a sore throat on Sunday to fighting for her life by Thursday. She was admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital with septic shock from a rare inflammatory response.
As her oxygen levels dropped, Evie was placed on donor-funded ECMO life support, and her parents were told amputation might be necessary. For two weeks, they clung to hope as a team of specialists worked tirelessly to save her life.
Thanks to extraordinary care — and resources made possible by donors — Evie’s story took a brighter turn.
- Music therapy soothed her during recovery.
- Child Life specialists filled her days with art and play.
- Pilot, the Children’s Hospital’s facility dog, lifted her spirits when she needed it most.
After weeks of intensive treatment and rehabilitation, Evie walked out of the hospital on her own two feet, with all 10 toes.

Today, she dreams of becoming a Child Life Specialist to bring the same comfort and joy to other children. Behind her recovery, her parents said, is “everything” — the care teams, the donor-funded programs, and the kindness of a community that gives kids the gift of growing up.
