Hockey Fan Matches “Teddy Bear Toss” Donations

During the annual Teddy Bear Toss during the Hershey Bears game on Dec. 4, fans threw a record 20,662 stuffed animals onto the ice to be donated to area charities including Children’s Miracle Network at Penn State Children’s Hospital. But we were in for an even bigger surprise!

For the second straight year, Hershey Bears fan Jeff Sweigart donated $1 per stuffed animal or $20,662 to Children’s Miracle Network Hershey. As Jeff shared, “It’s the coolest fundraiser in sports and I am truly honored to be part of the program. To watch officials from the AHL, players, staff and volunteers clean up with smiles on their faces, it is just beyond words.” THANK YOU, Jeff, and the Sweigart Family Foundation for making miracles happen for kids at Penn State Children’s Hospital.
