The 10th annual Neiman Marcus “Giving is Always in Fashion” events on November 30 & December 1 at the Hotel Hershey raised $107,000 for Children’s Miracle Network at Penn State Children’s Hospital. The funds will specifically benefit the Hummingbird Program, which supports patients with complex, life-limiting medical conditions.

On November 30, Neiman Marcus hosted an exclusive “Up Close and Personal” event. Guests had the chance to peruse the exquisite fashions designed by Naeem Kahn. The event on December 1 featured a basket auction, jewelry raffle, luncheon program and Naeem Kahn runway show. Kahn’s son, Zaheen Khan, attended and spoke about the spring/summer & resort 2018 collection, which was all handmade in India. The program featured remarks by Dr. Leslie Walker-Harding, Chair of Pediatrics,  Jeanne Arnold of Lebanon and Amanda Coble, mother of Malaya, a Hummingbird patient.

“At nine days old, Malaya received her first surgery. This allowed her NICU doctors and specialists to diagnosis her with an extremely rare genetic disorder megacystis microcolon intestinal hypoperistalsis syndrome (MMIHS),” Amanda shared.

“Sitting down with the Hummingbird team helped us focus on what the change would look like for our family, the emotional and logistical support we would need, and what our long-term goals would be for Malaya and how we could reach them as a team.”

The event also honored Jeanne Arnold, the chair of the event committee. Jeanne and her husband, Ed, helped to found the Hummingbird Program, which has now helped more than 500 patients and families.

In 10 years, the Neiman Marcus Fashion Show has raised $785,000 to support the Hummingbird Program thanks to the generosity of the Arnolds, sponsors including The Hershey Company and guests.
