GIANT & Duracell Host Patient Party

Duracell and Giant Food Stores teamed up for a patient party at Penn State Children’s Hospital! Duracell donated a lightsaber to each patient and Giant brought yummy treats. Kids also enjoyed coloring superhero masks, getting their faced painted and meeting Darth Vader, Star Wars Storm Trooper and Elsa! Duracell also donated 7,500 batteries to our hospital so we can provide the healing power of imaginative play.

“We are so grateful for GIANT and Duracell’s generous support of Penn State Children’s Hospital,” said Danielle Sunday, director of Children’s Miracle Network Hershey. “Being in the hospital during the holidays can be especially challenging for our patients and their families, and this party will certainly brighten their day. In addition, play is such an important part of a child’s healing, and many of the hospital’s toys require batteries. The battery donation will help us continue to provide patients with play therapy throughout the year.”

Giant is also supporting CMN Hospitals through its Candle for Kids campaign. Customers can make a donation during check out until Dec. 3.
